They say the world is in chaos. They say that the chaos is never ending. Have you made a resolution within yourself that this is just how it is going to be? Obviously, we don’t have control of the chaotic world that we live in, but we do make conscious decisions as to how we contribute to the chaos. I recently heard someone say, “everything is just so chaotic”. Really? Is everything really chaotic? I would beg to differ. Everything in life does not have to be labeled as chaos just because things maybe unfamiliar territory! What is chaos by definition? The dictionary defines chaos as complete disorder and confusion. When was the last time you stopped to check your environment? There are times that we are seemingly living in chaos and therefore we label everything as chaos.
Chaos can be a state of being when we have not stopped to check our environment. Chaos can be a state of being when we have not stopped for a moment to assess the boundaries that we have set for ourselves. We have to be the constant surveyor of our own territory and that is the reason behind the need to establish boundary lines. It is astonishing as to how often people move the boundaries closer inward than outward. Often the inward movement is more or less how we adjust to accommodate the needs of others while denying ourselves. To say that everything is in chaos could be because of our own self-limiting viewpoints.
Imagine being the primary owner of a 10,000 sq, ft. mansion; there is so much space and so many opportunities to add your own unique creativity and style to every square foot! That would be pretty amazing, yet many people would only utilize about 1200 to 1800 square feet because they are too afraid to venture out and be creative because they are conditioned to stay in small spaces. Are you guilty of basically having 8000 sq, ft. of furniture but you only use 1200 sq. ft.? If that is you, what has happened is that you have created your own chaos? You created chaos by packing too much into one space causing your vision to be impaired to look beyond what you can physically see. The chaos blocks your clear pathway to walk forward leaving you stuck in a place when you are unable to imagine.
It is time to stop living in chaos because of fear! Assess your environment, get rid of those things (people) that are no longer beneficial for your design. Please be mindful, to get rid of something or someone does not mean that they no longer have purpose and value, it just means that they are better suited elsewhere. It is your choice, but it is time to stop living in chaos and live-in pursuit of purpose!
